HIGH-PERFORMANCE PLASTICS

PTFE sheets, PTFE tubes, PTFE rods

Pure PTFE, PTFE 25% glass, PTFE carbon graphite, PTFE bronze

PTFE high-performance plastics have a very wide range of applications. Especially for molded parts subject to low loads and where no fillers are permitted.

Because of its high purity, high chemical and temperature resistance to almost all organic and inorganic chemicals, it has a temperature resistance of -270°C to +260°C and because of its electrically insulating properties, the high-performance plastics made of PTFE are mainly used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and electrical industries.

The most important mixtures are:

PTFE +15% glass or PTFE +25% glass

The glass filling increases the very low coefficient of friction of PTFE and also increases the wear and pressure resistance. The best results are achieved with Dyneon TFM as the base material. The material is used for bearing segments, ball seals, etc.

PTFE +17% glass +3% MoS2

Has the same compressive strength as glass-filled PTFE, but uses MoS2 as a lubricant. Molybdenum also increases hardness and reduces wear.

PTFE VFG - VX1 - Maroon (red-brown)

The high concentration of glass fibers with the addition of inert metal oxides make this compound the best choice where pressure and wear resistance are of great importance. Used for gaskets that require very low cold flow properties.

PTFE + 22% carbon + 3% graphite

Carbon is one of the best fillers for chemical applications. It is characterized by high thermal conductivity and high wear and pressure resistance. The mixture is used for piston rings and other dynamic seals.

PTFE 25% carbon fiber

Same as carbon/graphite with improved stiffness, reduced creep and reduced thermal expansion. Used for valve seats, bearings etc. for steam applications.

PTFE +15% graphite

A compound with excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. For antistatic linings and bearings.

Sumicasuper 10% Ekonol

Exceptional filling component improves the mechanical properties. Used for lip seals, back-up rings etc.

PTFE +60% bronze

This filler combines a low coefficient of friction with high compressive strength. Both properties make this material the "bearing material" par excellence.

TFM(R)

Same as pure PTFE but with improved cold flow properties. Very good weldability. Limited porosity. Used for ball seats, linings etc.

Most compounds are available in tube or rod form.
