PEEK (POLYETHERETHERKETONE), KEL-F (POLYCHLOROTRIFLUOROETHYLENE)

PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is a colorless thermoplastic high-performance polymer with excellent mechanical and chemical properties that are retained even at high temperatures. PEEK has a crystalline transition temperature of about 143 °C and melts at about 343 °C. It is resistant to almost all organic and inorganic chemicals. It is also resistant to hydrolysis up to around 280°C. However, PEEK is not resistant to UV radiation and concentrated sulphuric acid at room temperature.

  • Very good mechanical and chemical resistance
  • excellent strength, stiffness and toughness at higher temperatures
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Low moisture absorption

Due to its excellent mechanical properties, PEEK high-performance plastics are used for the production of highly stressed parts such as bearings, compressor rings, pump valves, seats and insulation material for cables, mainly in the aerospace, automotive and chemical industries. It is also one of the few plastics suitable for ultra-high vacuum applications or as a material for implants in the medical sector.
